U.S. Premium Beef Qualified Custom Feedlot List
U.S. Premium Beef's Qualified Custom Feedlot (QCF) list is designed to assist
producers who are looking for a feedlot that has knowledge and experience in
finishing cattle for USPB's quality-based system. USPB recognizes these feedlots
on the QCF list because they agree to practice the requirements summarized
below. This added assurance provides confidence to producers looking for a
custom feedlot where USPB has examined and confirmed the production practices.
To be included on the QCF list, each feedlot has satisfied the requirements
described below. For a complete listing of requirements, please contact the USPB
office.
QCF Feedlots:
- are regular suppliers of finished cattle to USPB, and have experience in
managing and marketing cattle to our value-based endpoint.
- are USPB unitholders, and make those units available for customer use.
- actively promote U.S. Premium Beef to their customer base.
- encourage the use of individual animal electronic identification systems.
- consult veterinary expertise for selection and proper use of animal health
products.
- consult the services of a nutritionist for information on feeding cattle for a
value-based marketing system.
- manage stress on incoming feeder cattle to ensure optimum cattle feedlot and
carcass performance.
USPB field staff conducts regular interviews at these feedlots to assist with
any program questions and ensure production and management practices agree with
USPB guidelines.
Proper management is a critical ingredient to successful grid marketing.
However, it is not a guarantee. Genetic potential of the cattle plays an
important role as well. The USPB Qualified Seedstock Supplier list is also
available on this website. These breeders offer superior genetics designed to
succeed on the USPB grid. Call them for your commercial bull needs or for
information regarding feeder cattle with their genetics.

producing cattle for USPB's quality-based system. USPB
recognizes these breeders on the QSS list because they agree to practice the
requirements listed below. As a result, commercial ranchers have added assurance
that these breeders offer high quality genetics designed for USPB's integrated
production system.
To be included on the QSS list, each ranch must satisfy the requirements
described below. For a complete listing of requirements, please contact the USPB
office.
QSS Ranches:
- are USPB unitholders and can assist you in marketing your cattle to USPB.
- strive to produce high quality genetics for all traits, especially the carcass
traits needed to produce premiums on USPB's value-based grids.
- actively promote U.S. Premium Beef to their customer base.
- are full-time seedstock producers committed to breeding top-quality genetics.
- offer valuable customer service in marketing your feeder or fed cattle.
- encourage the use of individual animal electronic identification systems.
USPB field staff conducts regular interviews at these ranches to answer

Although genetics play an important role in successful grid marketing, it is not
a guarantee. Even cattle with the best genetics must have superior management
and environment to achieve superior results. The USPB Qualified Custom Feedlot
